The 10th Malaysia Genetics Congress (MGC10) is an open Congress for geneticists held once every two years, and strives as a major activity undertaken by the Society. The Congress will be held on 3-5 December 2013 at Hotel Sunway Putra, Kuala Lumpur. The aim of the Congress is to create a platform where researchers from around the world can reflect on advances made in the scientific fields of genetics, biotechnology and genomics, consider the best of contemporary research progress and anticipate future development in these disciplines. The Congress will provide opportunities and gather as many scientists, geneticists, researchers, academicians, biotechnologists, policy makers and students to share their latest knowledge, experiences and achievements in the fields of genetics, biotechnology and genomics. The Congress will also provide a platform for sharing of ideas and for networking among researchers from the different areas of genetics and allied fields. The theme for the Congress is “Advances in Genetics, Biotechnology and Genomics”. The highlight of the Congress will be the 10th Mendel Lecture to be delivered by an eminent scientist Professor Dr. Takashi Gojobori from the National Institute of Genetics, Mishima, Japan. He will deliver a public plenary presentation on the topic of “Frontline of Evolutionary and Comparative Genomics”.
