Since 1998, The Functional Food Center (FFC) has been a pioneer in functional industry; combining cutting-edge expertise in the bio-medical sciences with practical business experience in order to aid in further research, development, and commercialization of functional food innovations in both domestic and international markets. The FFC connects a global network of professionals (scientists, functional food experts, and food industry representatives) to an environment conducive to innovative research collaboration.
The FFC has recognized the need for scientists, medical doctors, dietitians, nutritionists, and food industry representatives to meet intimately and discuss the latest research and development in the realm of functional and medical foods, bioactive compounds, and nutraceuticals.
For that purpose, the FFC organizes several conferences each year. We would like to envite all experts in biology, chemistry, food industry, and medical industry to join us in attending our upcoming conference!
The FFC organizing committee, in partnership with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), is pleased to announce the 14th International Conference of FFC to be held at UCLA from August 20 – 22, 2013. This conference will focus on the collective knowledge about the management of chronic inflammation through functional food innovation. Recent progress in this area has been explosive and this conference should be particularly timely in bringing focus to the significance of current developments.
The conference will be held at UCLA. UCLA is home of 12 Nobel Prize winners, 275 of the "Best Doctors in America" and many established professionals in the field of functional foods.
General topics for this conference include...
- Functional food ingredients: sources and potential benefits in public health
- Bioactive compounds for chronic inflammation and chronic disease
- Bioactive compounds and foods in prevention of chronic inflammation; Role in tissue regeneration and disease prevention
- Bioactive foods in differentiation and prevention of chronic inflammation
- Bioactive foods in regulation of stem cell function, differentiation and prevention of chronic inflammation which fuels cancer and other chronic diseases
- Functional and medical foods in the management of chronic inflammation and chronic disease
- Inflammation, Biomarkers, and Bioactive foods
- Research and development of new functional food products.
Registration is now open on our website. Please contact us if you have any questions!
This conference will feature over 25 lecturers who are experts in the fields of medicine, biology, or the food industry. In addition, 5 special lecturers will be in attendance!
