According to the National Energy Administration (NEA) released , the national target is to reach 6.5 billion Nm3 shale gas output by 2015, and strive for 60-100 billion Nm3 output by 2020. In order to realize this aim, in China, at least 20,000 shale gas wells will be drilled by 2020; if the single well costs CNY 40 million, then to total investment will be more than CNY 800 billion, which will bring the huge market opportunities for the technologies and equipment services industry.
In U.S., benefit from shale gas industry, the petrochemical industry secured low-cost raw materials and energy supply, and regain competitiveness in the global market. In the future, if China can realize the low-cost and large-scale shale gas production, then the natural gas industry will be reshaped fundamentally. The imports of pipeline gas and LNG, as well as the natural gas based chemical industry and coal to SNG (synthetic natural gas) will be impacted. The associated gas from shale - ethane and propane, are also expected to become the new source of olefin feedstock.
The 2nd China Shale Gas Conference will discuss the national Shale Gas planning and policies, shale gas bidding updates & outlook, opportunities and challenges of shale gas development in China, shale gas projects update, technological innovation and applications, technical services and equipments market opportunities, and the impact on energy and chemical industry.
ASIACHEM Consulting will release the report (both English and Chinese) Shale Gas Updates & Analysis 2013>, which will be complimentary for the delegates.
