Description
This conference brings together scholars interested in studying the use of literature, drama and popular culture in the teaching and learning paradigm called Language Arts. Formerly called APELA (Applying Putonghua / English Language Arts), the conference was renamed Language Arts and Linguistics in fall, 2012. Papers may be delivered in English or Chinese. We welcome papers on the use of Language Arts in teaching any language. Abstracts of 300 words are invited, on any of the following themes: 1. Using literature in language teaching and learning 2. Using drama in language teaching and learning 3. Using pop culture in language teaching and learning 4. Creative and critical thinking, ethics and civics, cultural sensitivity in language teaching and learning
