Main theme of CAPE V: Perspectives for Hydrocarbons in Africa: Equilibrium between production and sustainable development

The event will feature a three day conference, an associated trade exhibition as well as petroleum and touristic excursions. The event will be organised by the African Petroleum Producers Association (APPA), the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy & Hydraulic Resources, Republic of Gabon and AME Trade Ltd, UK.

CAPE V will include delegations of the highest rank, from the eighteen petroleum producing members of APPA namely: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Congo DRC, Cote D’Ivoire, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Libya, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan and Tchad.


CAPE V: an established event with a guaranteed attendance of the highest level CAPE is established as the largest and the most influential oil and gas event in Africa. Previous editions have been organised since 2003:

CAPE I in Tripoli, Libya CAPE II, 2005 in Algiers (Algeria) CAPE III, 2007 in Cotonou (Benin) CAPE IV, 2010, in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo)   

CAPE IV organised in March 2010, Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo included 75 presentations, over 700 participants from 43 countries and 59 exhibiting companies.

CAPE V will be organised at the same time as the 30th Ordinary Session of the APPA Council of Ministers meeting which is attended by the Ministers of APPA member countries. The event will also be organised concurrently with the Forum of General Directors of African National Oil Companies.
