Indonesia is ranked third in Asia with 55 million internet users on at one time, it holds the title as Facebook’s 4th biggest market and Twitter’s 3rd biggest market and is on track to becoming the world’s 7th largest economy by 2030. It has been said that Indonesia is the ‘Next Big Thing in the technology market’.
As one of the world’s top performing emerging economies; ICT has played a critical role in the country’s transformation. Home to a steadily increasing middle class, Indonesians are seen as an information hungry society that has become more reliant on technology to operate their daily lives.
With Indonesia transitioning into the digital age, IT investments are expected to grow with global vendors anticipating continuing expansion plans at both a national and regional level; and IT spending expected to achieve US$15.8 billion by the end of 2013. Thus the spotlight shines on the CIO as government and enterprises dabble with the four pillars of IT industry growth that are transforming business - cloud, big data and analytics, social business and mobility.
As a result, the role of the CIO is evolving from the traditional view point of simply attending to technical matters. Instead the CIO is seen attending to business issues and sharing the roles and responsibilities of their counterparts. As more companies come to rely on technology in order to achieve business goals the CIO is placed in the frontline as we enter this digital business future.
This brings us to the . The Summit is invitation only and intended for Indonesia’s senior IT leaders to gather for a strategic one day event in order to exchange knowledge and interact as one over a range of important issues facing the industry. The one-to-one meetings with leading supplier companies will also provide a wealth of knowledge and offer opportunities for all attending delegates, while the informal networking sessions promise to create a unique interactive forum.
Our advisory council and organising committee are made up of some of the country’s most respected IT leaders who have created the most relevant and topical agenda for our attending audience. They have invited leading experts to provide sessions on site, allowing all attendees the opportunity to be informed by front-line executives that compress years of meaningful experience into a systematic, well-organised learning program.
On behalf of the entire organising committee, we hope you will join us for what promises to be another compelling and stimulating event.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Indonesia, on the 10-11 September 2014.
