Description
Join us for the launch of the Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR) at the Canada-US Law Institute's 2013 Henry T. King, Jr. Annual Conference on April 11-12, 2013 at the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, Ohio.
The 2013 Conference will ask a pivotal question for the Great Lakes–St. Lawrence Region: Are bi-national governance and collaboration efforts the key to regional prosperity? The conference will explore what's working, what's not, and what evolutions are needed to support long-term bi-national prosperity and sustainability in the the region.
As a highlight to the conference, the Canada-U.S. Law Institute and the Mowat Centre at the University of Toronto will jointly launch a groundbreaking new organization: the Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR).
The CGLR will convene multiple interests, connect regional actors, inform decision-makers and the public, and cultivate a unified regional voice, all with the goal of supporting the region's existing organizations and working on behalf of the region's interests.
Its launch, co-chaired by the Hon. James Blanchard and the Hon. James Peterson, will mark the beginning of a new era in bi-national regional cooperation for the Great Lakes–St. Lawrence Region.
