Creative Training Masterclass

It is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced trainers. It helps participants to develop an imaginative style of training both in terms of content and delivery. During the masterclass participants will consider how to open a session and engage a team. They will also develop an understanding of how to use different drama techniques in training including, role play, forum theatre and script reading. As well as this delegates will have the opportunity in teams to develop short creative training sessions. They will be able to practice and review their training style and receive constructive feedback on their skills.
This masterclass will be led by Becky Simpson and David Schaal who are co directors of Playout a dynamic drama based communications and presentations training company. Playout were pioneers of drama based learning within the health service. They now produce training DVD’s, create and present training days and provide presenters, scriptwriters, and role players for many organisations. They have a wide variety of clients in the public and corporate sector ranging from many PCT’s and medical schools to Universities and football clubs. Becky Simpson is a professional actor and presenter. She originally trained at the Guildford School of Acting after which she worked both as a professional actress in repertory theatre and as a television and radio presenter for independent TV companies and the BBC world service. David Schaal is also a professional actor, teacher and trainer. He has made numerous television and film appearances including Eastenders,, The Bill, Lock Stock, Grange Hill, The Inbetweeners and The Office. He directs, and has taught voice and acting skills at Italia Conti Theatre School.
