Critical Components: Mastering the College Admission Process
Organization: National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC)
|Event Date/Time: May 28, 2013 / 8:00 am - (PST)||End Date/Time: May 31, 2013 / 2:00 pm - (PST)|
Who Should Attend? NACAC's Critical Components: Mastering the College Admission Process is designed for all professionals who assist students with the college search and/or application processes.
When: May 28 – 31, 2013
Where: Marriott Downtown Waterfront, Portland OR
Why: Critical Components takes a conventional idea and deliberately examines it from alternate angles. For instance, instead of discussing financial aid, it emphasizes the importance of financial literacy. In lieu of looking at the pitfalls of standardized testing, it focuses on the increased role of non-cognitive variables in college admission. Critical Components wrestles with weighty issues long before they seep into mainstream rhetoric—supplying professionals with tangible solutions to make an immediate impact on their school, practice, and/or community.
This year's Keynote Address will feature Adam and Jaye Fenderson, directors of the award-winning documentary FIRST GENERATION. After Adam and Jaye's remarks, NACAC will host a brief reception and private film screening for Critical Components attendees. Join us for what promises to be an eye-opening and inspirational kickoff to the conference!
