Abilities In Mind (AIM) is hosting its 2nd annual conference, EMBRACING ABILITY: MAKING IT HAPPEN  on March 5 & 6, 2014 in beautiful Vancouver, BC. The Conference is designed for those who want to learn more about making the workplace inclusive.  The conference brings together employers, self-advocates, service providers and workers to share ideas, collaborate strategies, and seek new opportunities to diversify their workplace.  AIM's goal is to facilitate a perceptual shift allowing employers to see the value in attracting, hiring, retaining and promoting individuals with disabilities.

"The Conference will have an evening reception on Wed. March 5th".

Lunch & refreshments are included for both days.

Early bird registration is open until December 15, 2013.  Pre-registration is required.

Accommodation: A special rate for attendees has been arranged with the Marriott Pinnacle Downtown until February 4, 2014

Programme of Events include:

  • 3 Internationally recognised speakers

  • Extensive opportunities to network with colleagues
  • Opportunities to view exhibits

There are three keynote speakers who will be sharing their insights on the following topics:

  • Addressing the 21st Century Skills Gap through Employing People with "Abilities"
  • Why Not?: Diversify your Company to Include People with Disabilities
  • Hiring Persons with Disabilities can promote Positive Change

Keynote Speakers are:

  • Roxanne Sawatzky of Empowering Change, Canada
  • Barry deGeest of the Renaissance Group, New Zealand
  • Debra Ruh and Sarah Ruh, Ruh Global LLC, USA

There will also be 16 amazing workshops that demonstrate innovative and successful practices in building an inclusive, sustainable workforce of people with disabilities.

The Conference will be in English with sign language interpreters provided throughout the Conference.
