The 3rd edition of the Estoril Conferences will take place between April 30th and May 3rd 2013, with several presentations and panels by global leaders and thinkers.

Other events include a round Table with Overseas Ambassadors and the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs on “Portugal and Globalisation”, the Estoril Youth Summit, Glotalks (inspirational presentations by invited guests), bilateral meetings throughout the whole program, a Gala Award Ceremony with dinner and show, extended parallel program, including a Closing Dinner: a final dinner with speakers and guests.

More than 1500 participants are expected among academics, politicians and business executives. We will count with the additional participation of 600 students national and international students.

April 30th

09h30 – 14h00 Estoril Youth Summit

This summit aims at ensuring a higher involvement of younger generations and incorporating their particular perspectives on the challenges of globalization and their suggestions for local answers. The Estoril Conferences have a strong focus on the promotion of action at the local level and we believe that younger generations have the power to make significant changes.


10h00 – 11h30 Special Session – Globalization and the Future of High Education

This special session is a panel with the participation of the Presidents/Deans of the Academic Partners of the Estoril Conferences. It will address the development and role of high education in face of current globalisation trends.


12h00 – 14h00 Portugal and Globalization – Ambassadors Round Table

This event focuses on the particular role that Portugal can play in the specific context of Globalization, in its different cultural, economic, political and social dimensions. The event includes a private lunch, a round-table and bilateral meetings with foreign ambassadors in Portugal and special guests.
