The Google Apps for Education Bangkok Summit is a fantastic two day event taking place in  on Saturday November 24th and Sunday November 25th. The summit is focused on helping you get the most out of Google Apps for Education in both 'primary/secondary schools' and 'Higher Education' environments. We have sessions lead by some of the worlds leading Google apps experts including Google staff and Google Certified Teachers and trainers.   There will be sessions for teachers/lecturers, school administrators and school IT managers. We guarantee you will leave the summit with knowledge that you can take away to your school and start using straight away.   In addition we will have a 'Chromebooks playground'; A dedicated classroom with experts on hand where you can drop in at any time during the conference to try out Google Chromebooks.

Suan Yeo, Google

Suan heads up Google Enterprise Education efforts in Asia-Pacific, covering 48 countries in this multi-diverse region. He is responsible for promoting the adoption of Google technology at the institution level for schools and universities. Suan is passionate about Educational Technology, and is constantly advocating for collaborative learning, open access and innovative experimentation. He is a lifelong learner, and firmly believes that no child should be left behind in education.

  A Google veteran of 10 years, Suan most recently managed the Enterprise SMB business in Asia-Pacific, growing annual revenues to $15M in 3 years. Prior to that, he managed various teams in the Ad Sales organizations, pioneering teams and offices in Europe and Asia. Starting in Mountain View (Google HQ) in 2002, he’s moved to Dublin, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Singapore and now lives in Sydney with his wife and 2 kids.   Pornthip Kongchun, Google   Pornthip is the Marketing Manager for Google Thailand. She previously worked at the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Microsoft, before becoming the first employee of Google in Thailand.    Ken Shelton   Ken currently holds a M.A. in Education, with a specialization in New Media Design and Production. He has worked as an educator for 9 years and currently teaches technology at the Middle School level. As a part of his active involvement within the Educational Technology community, Ken is a Google Certified Teacher, an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Discovery STAR Educator, and a member of the Discovery Educator Network California Leadership    Council. Ken was also recently appointed to the California Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Educational Technology Task Force.  Ken regularly gives presentations and leads workshops, many of which are hands on, covering a wide variety of educational technology, technology integration, creative expression, and instructional design topics.     Rowland Baker Rowland Baker has been an educator for over thirty years in both public and private schools.  He served as a teacher for fourteen years, a principal in two different schools, a director of technology and an assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in a county of about 45,000 students.  He has also directed several statewide projects for the California Department of Education.     He has worked closely over the years with Institutes of Higher Education, the Association of California School Administrators, California School Leadership Academy, the California Technology Assistance Project and the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE).    Rowland serves on several state and national committees focused on technology and education. He was one of forty educators brought together from across the United States to help ISTE write the National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators. Mr. Baker presented at the ICL Confernece in Austria, Octotber 2012, the Google Apps for Education Summit in Prague, Czech Republic.  Rowland was also part of the EDusummIT in The Hague, Netherlands in 2009, and again in Paris France in 2011. He was invited to attend the UNESCO Congress on Open Educational Resources in Paris France in 2012. He was one of five educators invited to speak at the Dubai Global EdTech Forum.  He is a sought after presenter that has presented at over a hundred conferences, both nationally and internationally.   He has received numerous award including, Teacher of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Distinguished Service Award from Phi Delta Kappa, and the Prestigious Montague Award for Outstanding Achievement from Association of California School Administrators, and ISTE's Making IT Happen Award.   Rowland is currently Executive Director of the Technology Information Center for Administrative Leadership (TICAL), funded through the California Department of Education.   Joseph Tanpoco "Joseph Tanpoco is the IT Manager at Chatsworth International School in Singapore. As one of the only certified Google Apps Qualified in Singapore, he always conduct training for education and enterprises, both for end users and administrators.   Mr. Tanpoco is one of the most sought after minds when it comes to Google Apps for Education and his management of the GA domains is legendary. He has deployed more than 150 domains with a size of up to 5000 users and migrated mails from Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and other leading mail applications."   Jarunee (Kay) Sinchairojkul, CRM Charity Foundation Kay is the Project Manager for the 'CRM Charity Foundation' and runs the Google Apps Supporting Program for Education in Thailand, liaising with Thai schools and Universities   Sarah Woods Sarah Woods is the Head of IT and a Secondary IT Integration Coach at Pechersk School International in Ukraine. She holds a Graduate Certification in K-12 Technology Integration and is well on her way to completing her MS Ed in the same. She is a Google Qualified Individual and has worked extensively with Google Apps for Education in her current school where they use Google for resource management, calendaring, collaboration, curation and much more! She has worked in international schools for 7 years.    Sarah has a unique presentation style as her sessions reflect her passion for student-directed learning. Expect to get your laptop out and try new things - her hero is Miss Frizzle, "Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!"  

Samuel Cheung, Google

Samuel Cheung joined Google in 2008 and currently serves as Lead for Google Apps Supporting Programs for Edu in South East Asia where he is based out of Singapore. Prior to this role, Samuel worked out of Google headquarters in Mountain View as a technical program manager for Search and Android helping to launch and run operations for such products as Instant Search, Android Marketplace and Google Music. Before joining Google, Samuel spent 6 years at Microsoft working on their online services and storage platforms.
