You may have had the opportunity to attend a past conference and learn from some of the top notch state and national experts in their fields. This year’s conference promises to provide more quality educational opportunities.
PURPOSE AND THEME
Yes, we are all different, but do we truly see how our individual contributions create a rich, meaningful society? We must value those skills, experiences and perspectives that we all provide to our communities.
“SEEING BEYOND” asks each of us to look beyond our individual abilities and situations and appreciate the value of this collective diversity. This vision can ultimately manifest a community that makes everyone feel included, deserving, equal, appreciated and loved.Eight areas of focus: • Mental Health • Professional/Personal Growth • Autism Spectrum Disorders • Developmental Disabilities • Parent Issues • Employment Services • System Changes • Human Resources Over 30 separate presentations to choose from during the 2 day conference CEU's are available. Training is Pre-Approved by HCRI Keynote speaker this year is Robert Pio Hajjar:
“He will be profoundly retarded. Put him away and forget about him. Have another child.” This is how doctors informed the parents of their son’s birth back in 1977. Robert Pio Hajjar was born with Down syndrome.
Can you imagine being written off at birth as “profoundly retarded”? They did not realize that Robert was born to be a champion. Against all odds, Robert Pio Hajjar has become an internationally famous motivational speaker. “The cards that were dealt to me in life are not as important as how I play them,” he says with great conviction. With only $62.05, he founded “Ideal Way,” an organization devoted to inspiring youth to achieve their full potential and create positive social change. Robert’s will challenge you to help him create an inclusive world, free from bullying, where everyone feels I.D.E.A.L. …. Included, Deserving, Equal, Appreciated and Loved.
Blessed with natural showmanship, this charismatic, motivational speaker is making a difference in the world, travelling widely as living proof of what is possible. He says, “When you include people like me, give them love, encouragement and opportunity, amazing results are possible. I am living proof that inclusion works.”
