The long awaited report of the Public Inquiry led by Robert Francis QC looking into the alarming events that led to needless patient harm at Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust was recently published.  In the report Robert Francis QC outlines a number of recommendations and dedicates a chapter to Nursing.

  This one day national conference looks at the recommendations for nursing and how they can be implemented in practice to ensure patient centred care.   The recommendations for nursing focus on promoting nursing leadership, professional development and the delivery of compassionate care.  Delegates will hear national updates in response to the report, including how the recommendations reflect the principles of the 6C’s outlined in the CNOSs vision ‘Compassion in Practice’.   Senior nurse leaders will give presentations for taking the recommendations forward drawing upon their experiences of best practice, delegates will gain valuable advice and practical tips for implementation in their own organisation.    Topics highlighted in the final public inquiry report covered at the conference include:
