In Situ Oil Sands Water Treatment & Re-Use Optimization 2014
Organization: Canadian Business Conferences
|Event Date/Time: Jan 22, 2014||End Date/Time: Jan 23, 2014|
The mission of In Situ Oil Sands Water Treatment & Re-Use Optimization 2014 is to facilitate the sharing of operators' very latest water treatment and disposal plans to drive down the collective costs of meeting Directive 081. It will analyze upcoming and proven brackish and used-water treatment technologies and evaluate boiler technologies for optimal steam generation to reduce the percentage of water used and explain case studies showing how operators are cost-effectively sourcing and disposing of water within in situ oil sands production.
Day 1 will focus on treatment and steam generation starting with a keynote presentation on how operators are optimizing and reconfiguring SAGD plants to reduce waster disposal and meet Directive 081 requirements. Case studies on the very latest treatment techniques will then be assessed focusing on optimal boiler feed quality, ceramic membranes, evaporators, innovations and scale prevention techniques. How to avoid down time incurred by boiler fouling and pigging to reduce costs will also be addressed.
Day 2 will focus on water sourcing and disposal, starting with a presentation showing how an operator has moved from mainly fresh and mainly brackish water without compromising economics during in situ production. Disposal treatment requirements and cost effective waste options will then be assessed followed by production techniques for reducing water use and techniques for reducing GHG emissions and the environmental footprint of water management.
