The Permian Basin accounts for about 16% of total U.S. oil production and 22% of drilling activity, making it one of the most successful prolific plays on the continent. While the basin is not new, it’s currently booming, thanks to technological advances that have led to new gushes of crude – and a lack of dry holes for drillers. The rig count in the Permian is now at levels not seen since the 1980’s, with over 155,000 producing wells requiring ramped up infrastructure and services.
With production on an upswing, the region faces serious midstream and downstream challenges. There’s a critical need for gathering and processing build-out. Shortages of frac sand, water, labor and transportation need to be addressed and new and emerging markets must be assessed, lined up and connected to the Permian Basin in order to sustain production levels. No single market player can unilaterally overcome the many challenges associated with getting crude and NGLs in this region out to market. These challenges must be addressed by all stakeholders.
To provide a forum so you can assess the opportunities and meet with key industry players, Infocast is holding the Permian Basin Infrastructure & Development Summit, bringing together midstream companies, rail and trucking firms, E&P companies, equity investors, commercial lenders, investment bankers, leading consultants and other top experts. Attend to get up-to-the-minute information and establish key relationships so you can maximize your ROI in this exciting play.
