In an increasingly competitive Higher Education sector, the student experience provided by a university can be its greatest asset in attracting high-quality applicants. The 2014 Lean in HE Hub conference will explore how the student experience can be improved. Delegates to past Lean in HE conferences have enjoyed practical and interactive programmes, and 2014 will continue this approach. Over two days, presentations and workshops will be delivered by experts from across the educational world, with plenty of networking time. The keynote will be given by Professor Sir Keith Burnett, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sheffield, and Alex Butterworth from NUS Wales will help set the conference context by providing the voice of the student. Other speakers from Coventry, York, Strathclyde, Derby, Exeter, Wolverhampton and Manchester Metropolitan (as well as Cardiff) universities, will guide the audience on subjects as as diverse as the student experience, academic standards, professional services, benefits realisation and change programmes. From other parts of the education world, speakers from primary education and the library service will give their points of view. More information on the programme can be found here, and on the workshops here. The conference is for anyone working in HE regardless of whether you are starting your continuous improvement journey or looking to sustain it.
