AST tanks have gained importance and visibility in recent years due to failures that have resulted in hydrocarbon spills and environmental impact. Following these incidents, there has been a marked increase in government regulation and industry attention to tanks. There have been many accidents associated within storage tank (material deficiency, structure design failures, operation error etc.). Both human error and natural disasters can result in devastating incidents for tanks are usually kept outdoors under weather influences, as well as the tank bodies and accessories are poorly designed or are not effectively inspected and maintained. It also involves financial consequences and significant impact on the future business due to the industry reputation.
Salvo’s 3 day course on “Life Cycle Optimisation of Above Ground atmospheric Storage Tanks” will provide an understanding of the direct effect of the influence of environmental, dynamic, geological and chemical/electrical processes on storage tanks and will help the tank owner/operator to select an appropriate tank design, operate his storage facility within current and anticipated legislation, and gain from extended in-service periods within the tank life-cycle without compromising personnel safety or the environment. This course will be led by an international expert with more than 30 years of experience in the oil and petrochemical industry, trouble shooting and project management across a broad spectrum of storage tank management (tanks construction, maintenance & demolition), sludge management, engineering and operational disciplines.
This three-day course is designed for petroleum industry personnel, suppliers, or subcontractors responsible for the design, construction, inspection, maintenance, regulatory compliance, or operation of API above ground storage tanks.
