Dear Colleagues!
We have great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 8th International Symposium
National Literatures and the Process of Cultural Globalization
which will take place on 24-26 September, 2014, in Tbilisi, Georgia
The following panel topics will be in operation:
- Globalization and the Problem of Cultural Integration
- National Literary Canon and the Mechanisms of Cultural Globalization
- Weltliteratur and the Issue of National Literatures
- Literature without Borders?– Pro et Contra
Round Table – Comunicative Function of Translation in the Process of Cultural Globalization - is to be held through the symposium. The working format of the symposium:
- Participation with presentation
- Participation in the Round Table
- Participation without presentation (with a status of an attendee)
- Participation without attendance (under condition of publication)
Working languages of the Symposium are: Georgian, English and Russian. The interested applicants should send abstracts and filled Registration Forms in English Language electronically to the Organizing Committee.
- Abstracts of no more than 250 words, Font - Times New Roman, Size 11, Line spacing – single.

The deadline for submitting abstracts and registration has been extended until May 20, 2014.
Incorrectly filled registration forms (an application form + an abstract) will not be accepted! The Organizing Committee preserves the right to select symposium participants. The approved participants will be sent informational communiqué additionally. Registration fee for approved participants:
- Participation with presentation – € 90
- Participation in the Round Table – € 90
- Participation with a co-author (if any) - € 150 (for both authors)
- Participation without presentation (with a status of an attendee) - €50
- Participation without attendance (under condition of publication) -€50
The registration fee includes:
- Publications of the symposium program and theses
- Coffee/tea breaks during the conference days
- Lunch during the conference days
Symposium participants will be invited by the organizing committee to the Cultural program: a guided tour to the Georgian National Museum and its Gold Fund. Participants will also be offered a paid cultural programme. After the completion of the symposium proceedings will be published. Authors will receive the scanned files of their articles (Please, note that the postal service of sending the proceedings is not included in the registration fee).
Venues:
Opening Ceremony of the Symposium at Sheraton Metechi Palace, Tbilisi, Georgia.
Conference Sessions wi be held at Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature, Tbilisi, Georgia.
