The Peace Islands Institute–Philadelphia seeks to bring together visionaries across disciplines, uniting academics and organizational leaders and activists to share ways to build a stronger social fabric for Philadelphia and it surrounding areas via stimulating dialogue and the development of relationships that can facilitate mutual welfare.
Essentially, with Philadelphia 2020: Visions of Civil Society, we seek to develop and promote a common understanding with educators, policymakers, academics, activists, religious leaders, and concerned citizens in order to ensure a future rich in unity, education, welfare and progress for Philadelphia by 2020.

The conference will be a one-day intensive workshop with panels from an array of professionals, citizens, and perspectives. It will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Villanova University in 132 Driscoll Hall from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
