DAKAM’s PHILHIST ’15 / II. History of Philosophy Conference on 'Interactions' aims to a comparative re-reading of philosophical texts around the historical mechanisms of interaction and will take place at NHKM (Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center) in Istanbul on May 14-16, 2015.

 

All types of interaction (interactions between different regions and lands, unexpected historical links, contact of individuals or even the concept of inter - textuality itself) can be defined as one of the central sources for the history of philosophy

Renownned historian of philosophy, Prof.  , Prof. Zeynep Direk from Koç University, Prof.  from Boğaziçi University, and Prof.  from Koç University are going to be keynote speakers of the event.

The conference will be held at Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center (NHKM - www.nazimhikmetkulturmerkezi.org) one of the most popular cultural centers in Istanbul. 

Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center hosts several art and academic events in different disciplines every month. NHKM, named after one of the legendary modern Turkish poets - Nâzım Hikmet, has been established in 1996 and located in Kadıköy.  Kadıköy is a large and cosmopolitan district of Istanbul, facing the historic city centre on the other side of the Bosporus. With its numerous bars, cinemas and bookshops, Kadıköy can be regarded as the cultural centre of the Anatolian side of Istanbul.
