Power Plant Flexibility & Optimisation
Organization: Arena International
|Event Date/Time: Nov 27, 2012||End Date/Time: Nov 28, 2012|
The Second Annual Power Plant Flexibility Conference will look strategically and technically at how to ensure both gas and coal-fired power plants achieve the required level of flexibility to enable a reliable and efficient source of back up energy for a constant, stable power supply. This will mean looking carefully at the design of the plant, to ensure the correct material and component selection whilst achieving optimal operating conditions. It will address how best to approach the ramping up and down, as well as how to create optimal operating conditions for both gas and coal. Whilst gas can be optimised through design and temperature control, the central question for coal will be identifying and determining the potential for flexible operations given the usual necessity for these plants to work at base load. Furthermore, the conference will look to connect the utilities to the grid operators to ensure a mutual decision is reached on how to provide a stable power supply to the grid.
