Sexual Harassment at Workplace
Venue: India International Centre
|Event Date/Time: Dec 18, 2012||End Date/Time: Dec 18, 2012|
A few decades ago, the workplace was seen to be a space occupied largely by men. Over the years, women have started entering the workforce in large numbers and are now seen in almost every sector of the economy. With this, the composition of the workforce and the related dynamics of the workplace have undergone a change, throwing up many issues that seem to largely affect women.
Studies reveal that sexual harassment is still endemic, often hidden and present in different forms within organisations.
The Lok Sabha (on 3rd September 2012) passed the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Bill, 2010; wherein it is incumbent on all employers employing women to take steps in accordance with the law. This training workshop is set on this background & will provide an overview of this subject.
