Description

The 2013 Summer Institute will provide strategies that impact young people's health, futures, and communities by:

  • Providing the latest information and research on teen pregnancy and STI/HIV prevention that is appropriate for the diverse knowledge and skill of participants;
  • Increasing participants' knowledge and understanding the exemplary local-level teen pregnancy prevention strategies, approaches, and interventions; 
  • Reinforcing the importance of science-based approaches and innovative programs that help reduce high risk behaviors of adolescents; 
  • Enhancing participants' leadership and process skills through the inclusion of personal and professional development content; and 
  • Encouraging collaboration between providers at the local level through the use of panel presentations, shared learning and networking opportunities, and highlighting examples of exemplary collaboration 

The Conference will feature: 

  • Power Sessions
  • Opening reception and networking opportunity for participants 
  • Nationally-renowned keynote speakers
  • Networking events for participants 
  • An exhibit area that includes resources from more than 20 relevant organizations and vendors 
  • More than 30 breakout sessions that feature presenters from across the country and who were selected through a rigorous independent review process
