Maintaining global food security in order to feed a growing population is now high on the political agenda, but this needs to be achieved in ways that are consistent with reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and adapting to a changing climate.  This conference will explore the concept of Sustainable Intensification and the extent to which it is able to contribute to multiple challenges faced by the agricultural sector.

This event will bring together natural scientists, social scientists, farm advisers and policy makers to discuss and debate the vital issues and explore how we can feed the rapidly expanding world whilst saving the environment.

Keynote speakers are Prof Dominic Moran (SRUC), Prof Tim Benton (Univ of Leeds), Prof Nigel Scollan (Aberystwyth Univ), Prof Linda Prokopy (Purdue Univ), Dr Andrew Barnes (SRUC), Dr Bob Rees (SRUC), Prof Pete Smith (Univ of Aberdeen), Dr Robin Matthews (JHI), Dr Peter Kuikman (DLO-Alterra),  Dr Monika MacDevette (UNEP), Dr Philip Skuce (MRI)
