The 20th Annual Fall International Neurostereology Workshop
Organization: Stereology Resource Center
|Event Date/Time: Nov 12, 2014 / 8:30 am - (EST)||End Date/Time: Nov 14, 2014 / 5:00 pm - (EST)|
This 3-day Workshop consists of proven methods for unbiased stereology training, including formal presentations, hands-on exercises, Special Guest Lectures, and one-on-one sessions with stereology instructors, all on the relaxing banks of the historic Chesapeake Bay.
In November 1995 the first Neurostereology Workshop was held on Kent Island, the third oldest English settlement in North America (after Jamestown, VA and Plymouth, MA). In November 2014 the Neurostereology workshop returns to Kent Island after training more than three thousand scientists in the principles and practices of unbiased stereology over the past two decades.
Participants of the 20th Annual International Fall Neurostereology Workshop will learn:
- theory and practice of design-based (unbiased) stereology.
- how to avoid the common problems and pitfalls in stereology studies.
- to identify the most efficient path to completion of stereology projects.
- optimize their studies for maximum efficiency.
- gain proficiency in the use computerized stereology systems.
The only prerequisites for the Neurostereology Workshop are college-level statistics and a desire to learn about unbiased stereology.
Immediately following the Neurostereology Workshop on Kent Island, the 44th Annual Meeting of the Society For Neurosciences will start at the Convention Center in Washington, D.C. (November 15-20, 2014).
