A vessel’s operating costs will have often exceeded its purchase price by its 20th year of operation, and frequently well before. Shipowners and operators are scrutinising the cost of vessel ownership more rigorously than ever before. The efficient management of their asset from cradle to grave through the use of more efficient technologies, processes and best practices is an absolute priority. The Ship Lifecycle Management Conference brings together all the key stakeholders who collectively play a part in achieving these efficiencies: shipowners/ship operators; shipyards; designers; suppliers; class. The enthusiastic response to the inaugural event, held in July in Glasgow, has set strong foundations for future Ship Lifecycle Management conferences. Delegates from as far away as Singapore attended the conference, organised in conjunction with the latest Riviera Ship Repair evening networking event, which attracted a combined attendance of 164, including 55 shipowners/shipmanagers. Delegates participate in the Ship Lifecycle Management Conference to listen to and network with shipowners and shipmanagers and to hear what systems they are trialling and implementing to deal with costly operational issues, what they are doing to comply with new regulations, and what new technology is emerging. This focus on what's new and what is being done 'today' makes Riviera's conference a unique opportunity to hear from and network with the leading industry players.
