The TMS ALGARVE 2013 - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TOURISM & MANAGEMENT STUDIESwill focus on a wide variety of topics related to Tourism studies and Tourism and Hospitality Management. It aims to stimulate research and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the areas of Tourism and Leisure Studies, as well as Tourism and Hospitality Management, encouraging inter-disciplinary and comparative approaches. It is also our aim to provide a platform for stimulating inter-disciplinary discussions in the above mentioned areas, enhancing knowledge and experience and promoting scholarly cooperation and collaborative work among researchers from all over the world.
Following topics will be held separatelly as Symposiums or Special Sessions: Tourism & Culture Tourism Operations Tourism Economics Tourism Planning Tourism Health & Wellness Tourism Competitiveness & Innovation Hospitality Management, Wine & Gastronomy Tourism Marketing Tourism & Events Tourism & Sustainability Tourism Education Tourism, Safety & Security Tourism-related Migrations Human Resources in Tourism and Hospitality Post-Colonial Tourism Information and Communication Technologies in Tourism
- A selection of papers will be published in Volume 10, Issues 1 and 2 of the TOURISM & MANAGEMENT STUDIES journal (indexed: EBSCO, SCIELO, LATINDEX, DIALNET, CIRET, SCIRUS. We expect our journal to be indexed in the WEB OF KNOWLEDGE from October 2013).
- Possibility of publication of a fully indexed Special Issue of the TOURISM & MANAGEMENT STUDIES journal.
- Possibility of publication of a BOOK with selected papers.
- Publication of a BOOK OF ABSTRACTS with ISBN.
This is our 3rd TMS Conference.
Our previous TMS Tourism Conference (2011) received over 260 proposed papers from 34 countries, from which 177 were chosen for presentation. Invited Keynote Speakers were: Abraham Pizam, Alfonso Vargas, Dimitrios Buhalis, Jonathan Edwards e Richard Butler.
In 2012 our TMS Management conference had about 200 presentations from more than 400 authors representing 116 universities from 5 continents. According to the conference evaluation form completed by the participants, 99,2% found our conference to MEET or EXCEED THEIR EXPECTATIONS. Regarding the overall conference organization 96,9% rated the conference as GOOD or VERY GOOD.
