UC Davis Update on Clinical Dermatology for the Primary Care Practitioner (DERM014)
Venue: Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa
Location: Monterey, California, United States
Event Date/Time: Sep 29, 2013 | End Date/Time: Oct 01, 2013 |
Description
Needs Assessment: This year’s conference on Clinical Dermatology has been designed to respond to areas of need as identified through past conference evaluations and annual needs assessment surveys of participants. The program is knowledge and experience-based and designed to update participants on the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of common and serious dermatologic conditions. Primary care providers have a tremendous challenge to initially evaluate all medical problems brought to them by their patients. However, few primary care residency programs provide satisfactory exposure to dermatologic diseases and treatments. This course is designed to assist primary care physicians and other primary care providers in adopting a logical approach to the diagnosis of a wide variety of common and serious dermatologic conditions employing the Lynch algorithm. Beyond this, the emphasis will be upon treatment of diverse skin problems and determination of the appropriate times to refer to a dermatologist. Adequate time and opportunity will be provided for discussion of cases and for questions, particularly during breakfast sessions and panel discussions.
