We are pleased to announce that the first IEEE VR conference of the 21st Century will be held in Yokohama, Japan. Yokohama, located near Tokyo, is known for its harmonious mixture of eastern and western cultures. The city is home to beautiful parks, shrines, Buddhist temples, and Christian churches, as well as many advanced technology industries. We feel confident you will find the VR2001 conference an enjoyable experience.

Contributions for all technical programs are due September 1, 2000.

Additional Information

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As with the past VR conferences, the success of the conference depends in large part on the dedicated, reliable, energetic and enthusiastic student volunteers. Volunteer commitments can be made at two levels. In return for working ten hours at the conference, you will receive free conference registration, proceedings, receptions, snacks, a T-shirt and party. If you commit to twenty hours of work, you will receive all of the above freebies, plus an additional scholarship. If you would like to be part of this elite group, be sure to fill out an application. We expect to be posting the online form in the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled for changes on this page!
