ACA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
All ACA members voluntarily agree to adhere to a professional code of conduct. This code is an authoritative guide to the ethical practice of counseling. Violations are reviewed by the ACA Ethics Committee and can lead to probation or sanctions from the committee, loss of ACA membership, revocation of license by the state board, and legal penalties.
