Description

Welcome!
From the Bluetooth Special Interest Group
Another Year, Another Challenge
2001 will be yet another important year for Bluetooth, the year in which the industry faces the challenge of moving from a specification with a small number of pioneering products to one of greater market penetration. 2001 will see true “high street” products for Bluetooth, and as we move through the year, the first seeds of a “mass market” presence. It will be the year in which our technology faces the harsh spotlight of consumer evaluation in its transition from showcase to shop window. We must both ensure that the technology is ready to face - and excel - in this test, whilst moving the technology forward to prime it for new applications and new users. With such a significant period in our development, it has never been more important to compare ideas and benchmark experiences in bringing Bluetooth to market by participating in the SIG’s official events.

Plan Your Calendar
With the Bluetooth Developers Conference now upon us, it is now timely to look forward in the calendar and plan for the only other major meeting place of the Bluetooth year. Bluetooth Congress, 6-8 June 2001, Monte Carlo, is the SIG official major annual event held in Europe, and together these two events are the major landmarks of the Bluetooth conference year. The Congress will again fall at an exciting time for our global Bluetooth community. With so many products due to be released in the Q2 and Q3 of 2001, the Congress will doubtless again see a record breaking exhibition packed with the latest Bluetooth innovations and achievements from around the globe.

Authorised Programme
Based around independent research of the audience requirements and interests, and enhanced with input from the SIG to ensure the highest level of authority and topicality, the Congress programme will again examine the latest market and technical issues affecting the Bluetooth technology. The programme will feature the latest releases and statements from the SIG. Year 2001 will be an exciting year for the Bluetooth wireless technology. The next generation of the technology will be released with increased performance and new profiles and accredited test houses will be appointed.

Bluetooth Awards
The SIG is also pleased to announce that the Bluetooth Awards, successfully launched at the Congress in June this year, will be expanded for 2001. New categories of awards reflect the growing diversity of products available for Bluetooth. The gala awards presentation evening, held at the magnificent Cafe de Paris on 5th June, will definitely be an evening not to be missed!

See you in Monte Carlo!
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group

Bluetooth Congress again promises to the highlight of the Bluetooth year

Bluetooth Congress is the Official Congress of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, and the SIG’s only major event held in Europe. The Congress will again feature the world largest Bluetooth exhibition - three times the size of the record-breaking exhibition at the Bluetooth Congress 2000. The Congress attracts the most international and influential cross section of Bluetooth players gathered anywhere in the world.

Held in the spectacular surroundings of Monte Carlo, Bluetooth Congress this year takes up home at the brand new Grimaldi Forum, a state of the art purpose built conference and exhibition centre. As one of the most advanced congress venues in Europe, the Forum provides an excellent location to update on developments in this radical and exciting new technology.

The Congress presents your best opportunity to meet all the key Bluetooth players, meet new clients and partners, and reinforce existing relationships. Featuring an International speaker line-up of the Bluetooth experts, the comprehensive information packed programme enables you to:

Benchmark your Bluetooth development schedule against your competitors

Bluetooth Qualification
The vital importance Bluetooth Qualification and Approvals will be reflected by a one-day session focusing entirely on these issues. Covered by a dedicated one-day session, on Tuesday 5th June. This one day seminar will cover issues such as the qualification programme, BQTFs and BQBs, regulatory certification and other key issues in getting your Bluetooth products to market. Special SIG Update Sessions
A new feature of the conference will be “Bluetooth SIG Bulletins” from the Bluetooth SIG working groups. These special “late notice” presentations will be decided and advertised a short time before the Congress to ensure that delegates are receiving the most up-to-date Bluetooth information possible
