Description

Antibody Production and Downstream Processing
Creating Successful Antibody-Based Biopharmaceutical Products
January 31-February 2, 2001 - Paradise Point Resort - San Diego, CA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sales of therapeutics MAbs have skyrocketed in recent years, and are expected to reach $2 billion in the next two years. Three MAbs are expected to gain approval in 2000, and many more are in development, as are other forms of antibody-based therapeutics and diagnostics.
Production capacity does not exist today to produce the antibodies currently in the development pipeline. Biopharmaceutical manufacturers are under pressure to find appropriate production methodologies, whether via transgenics or in bioreactors, with high yields and quality and at the lowest possible cost.

IBC's 7th International Antibody Production and Downstream Processing gives scientists the latest reports on new technologies from expression systems through formulation, through case studies and reports from industry leaders.

How are companies dealing with the production capacity demand? Attend this conference to hear Frank Jackson describe Genentech's $250-million decision to build the Vacaville facility, the largest multi-product mammalian cell culture facility in the world. You will also hear strategic reports from all the major contract manufacturers, as well as insights from Centocor and CAT on their production decisions.

New features of the conference this year include:

A session on glycosylation, chaired by Nigel Jenkins of Lilly and featuring Roy Jefferis of the University of Birmingham, U.K.
An interactive roundtable discussion on Applications of Transgenic Technologies and Cell Culture Methods
"Critical Concepts" talks: brief introductory lectures to the expression, recovery and gycosylation sessions for those new to the field or specializing in different areas.
This year's program features case studies and new data from Genentech, Biogen, Idec, Centocor, Lilly, Human Genome Sciences, Abgenix, Techniclone, ImClone Systems, and Celltech Chiroscience.

Stay abreast of your competition's strategies and fine-tune your own company's plans by attending this important meeting. Consider also attending IBC's 2nd International Process Validation for Biologicals, January 29-30, 2001, in the same location. The Process Validation conference includes a Tuesday afternoon symposium on Harvesting and Purification of Antibodies, for which you can sign up separately. Register now to ensure your place.

Your presence at an IBC USA Conference puts you and your organization into immediate contact with a captive audience of potential customers. The benefits you can reap from Sponsoring or Exhibiting are tremendous because, unlike other segments of your marketing campaign, promotion through an IBC conference is both selective and direct. You can examine delegate profiles and decide to focus on events which would suit you best. Plus, you can meet potential clients face-to-face.
Different companies have different requirements and budget constraints. We are extremely flexible in the range of promotional opportunities we can offer to suit your needs.

Your choice of sponsorship will depend on whether you are trying to promote a specific product, or to improve your brand awareness in the marketplace. We are happy to advise you on the best match for your marketing needs and strategy.
