Over the past few years the pace of technological changes in communication systems and digital signal processing has been extremely
rapid and these areas are continuing to evolve and converge. In particular the research and development activities globally in the area of
communications and computer network has been growing at a rapid speed. It is the aim of this International Symposium to bring together
engineers, scientists and young researchers to discuss the progress and share advances made in these fields and provide a focus for
future research and developments. The Organising Committee have decided to keep the size of this event to a reasonable level in order to
give the delegates an ample opportunity to meet old friends, exchange ideas, establish new contact etc.

The symposium is sponsored by the IEEE, IEEE Communication Society, IEE, BSC, and many leading companies such as BT, Nortel
Networks, Lucent Technology, Cambridge Control, Corning etc.

The event take place every two years. The first event was in 1998 in Sheffield, UK, which attracted 200 papers, where150 were selected for
presentation and poster. There were delegates from more than 30 countries. The second event was held in 2000 in Bournemouth, UK, with
over 100 papers and delegates from more than 30 countries. The third event will be held in 2001 in Stafford, UK. Further announcement will
be made in due course. The organising committee invites proposal to hold the event in 2004 from interested parties. If you are interested
then please contact the Symposium Secretary Professor Z Ghassemlooy at the following address: CSNDSP Secretary, School of
Engineering, Sheffield Hallam University, Pond St, Sheffield, S1 1WB, UK., Tel: +44 114 225 3274, Fax: +44 114 225 3433, Email:

Special Session and Tutorials

The Organising Committee would consider the possibility of organizing an invited session and tutorials related to a topic of your research
interest. You can find information about the suggested steps for invited session organization in the Call for papers and in the conference
web page. If you are interested in organizing an invited session, please provides us with:

A proposal which gives a brief description of the topic
Number of papers expected
Contact name, address etc. and a brief biography.

If you need a detailed Call for Papers don't hesitate in asking us for it.
