IN WORKSHOP ON OCTOBER 9TH
Third workshop in 8-session series
The Small Press Center Publishing Workshops Series, with the support of Publishers Weekly, continues with the next workshop, How to Write Powerful Promotional Materials on Tuesday, October 9th, from 5.30 to 7.30pm at the Small Press Center, 20 West 44th Street in midtown Manhattan. The workshop will look at how to start and sustain publicity momentum for books.
Anyone who's been in the book business a while knows that even the "biggest" and best books do not, in fact, sell themselves, at least not until opinion-makers and readers get "word of mouth" going for them. Experts on activating the media and the public will tell you how they skillfully promote books using direct mail campaigns, Internet promotion, press releases, press kits, pitch letters, cover letters and more.
Expert panelists include: Carol Fass, President, Carol Fass Publicity and Public Relations; Carol Fitzgerald, President, Book Reporter.com/The Book Report Network; Neal Goff, Independent Consultant, Former SVP of Marketing, BMG Direct, former, President, Prentice Hall Direct.
The book business is changing rapidly, and our overview of publishing in 2001, held with the support of Publishers Weekly, examines what these advances mean for writers and publishers today. With a top-notch line-up of publishing and media professionals, each session deals with practical real-life problems and answers specific questions presented by moderators and the audience. Writers, aspiring publishers and experienced publishers will all find these comprehensive workshops enlightening and useful. Workshops will be moderated by senior editorial staff from Publishers Weekly.
Price: Individual Workshops - $15 members, $25 non-members
