Hosted by the Center for NanoSpace Technologies, Inc. and AIAA, NanoTech 2002 (“At the Edge of Revolution”) will be a forum for the presentation and discussion of information relating to current and future applications of integrated systems, Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS), Micro/Nano Electronics, and Micro/Nano Sciences. Integral to these presentations and discussions will be the transfer of information regarding technical and operational issues that impact or influence the design, production, and manufacturing of these technologies, as well as the deployment, and sustainment of such, and their future evolution.

This collaborative International event is directed toward engineers, scientists, system designers, operators, managers, and service providers, within the Micro/Nano Electronics, Micro/Nano Sciences, and Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) communities. The forum is designed to accommodate the dissemination and exchange of information regarding applicable technologies, processes, and operational considerations as they relate to the Aerospace, Energy, Life Sciences, and Transportation arenas. In addition, papers dealing with education and design in the identified categories are highly sought after and encouraged.
This unique event will combine a “Technical Conference & Workshop” to address and identify cost-effective, alternative solutions to the approaches currently in use, as well as to identify the challenges and issues associated with the application of micro/nano technologies across the spectrum of use, focusing on 1) the benefits of micro-nano structuring and applications, 2) innovations in manufacturing and production, 3) operational applications, 4) innovative applications, 5) life-cycle cost perspectives and analysis, and 6) needs and requirements. The abstract submittal deadline is 1 February 2002.
