The 7th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics will be held in Bern, Switzerland, May 26th to 28th 2002.
Bern is the capital of Switzerland and has recently been chosen as one of the Top International Cities, which offer the highest quality of life. The famous old part of the city, which was founded in the 11th century is surrounded by the winding bends of the River Aare. A walk along its quiet banks - even in the center of the city - is a very refreshing experience.
The city of Bern, 560 meters above sea level, is also famous for its beautiful and breathtaking views of some of the most impressive mountains of the Swiss Alps, Eiger and Jungfrau, which are accessible within one and a half hours by car. Bern and it’s beautiful surroundings offer a variety of possibilities for spending an enjoyable vacation. In May there is even the opportunity to go skiing.
The scientific meeting will be held in the comfortable lecture hall of the University Hospital, Inselspital, Bern, which has modern presentation equipment. The Conference will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of TCD, since the first dedicated TCD machine was constructed at the Inselspital, Bern, and the first paper on the clinical application of TCD was published in 1982.
We will do our best to organize a meeting at the highest scientific level but also with many opportunities to make new and to renew old friendships.
Scientific papers on all aspects of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemo-
dynamics (see “Main Topics”) are invited for oral or poster presentation. Authors should submit abstracts to the Congress Secretariat as early as possible but not later than February 28th 2002. Please submit electronically (e-mail) or when using a hardcopy please enclose a copy on floppy disk as well.
Details regarding the guidelines for abstract preparations can be found on the Congress Website (see: ‘Abstract Submission Form’) and in the second announcement. All abstracts submitted are reviewed blinded by the Scientific Program Committee and will, after acceptance, be assigned to either oral or poster presentation.
All abstracts accepted will be published in a supplement of Cerebrovascular Disease.

The official Language of the Congress is English.
A Technical Exhibition will be arranged at the Congress venue and last for the duration of the whole Congress. It will be open to manufacturers of Ultrasound and Cerebral Hemodynamic assessment equipment, pharmaceutical and software companies, as well as scientific publishers. Companies who wish to participate in the exhibition should contact the Scientific Secretariat as early as possible.
