Description The goal of the European thematic network - Immunology and Ageing in Europe (ImAginE) - is to facilitate the collaborations among thirty European laboratories involved in the studies of molecular cellular and clinical aspects of immunesenescence and worldwide acknowledged experts of Immunogerontology. So the 3rd Conference on Basic Biology and Clinical impact of Immunosenescence will be an important tool to exchange scientific experiences, ranging from molecular studies of genetic factors involved in the regulation of senescence of the immune system, to immunesenescence cellular mechanisms, strategies for immunogerontological studies, influence of ageing on vaccination and psychoneuroimmunological factors in ageing. Several presentations will address hot topics on the role of immunity in determining life span expectancy. The major results from the conference will be highlight on a prestigious scientific journal as the meeting report of the 2nd Conference on basic biology and clinical impact of immunosenescence of ImAginE published on TRENDS in Immunology (22: 348, 2001).
April 10. “Opening Ceremony” with a Main Lecture on a hot topic in Immunosenescence or in Immunology. April 11. Clinical and cellular aspect of in vivo and in vitro immunosenescence. Lectures of invited Speakers focusing on the central topic. Programmed communications on the topic. Round Table(s) on the topic with the Speakers (each ImAginE group will participate with at least one member as well as other scientists involved in these kinds of studies). April 12. Genetic and molecular aspect of in vivo and in vitro immunosenescence. Lectures of invited Speakers focusing on the central topic. Programmed communications on the topic. Round Table(s) on the topic with the Speakers (each ImAginE group will participate with at least one member as well as other scientists involved in these kinds of studies). April 13. Young Day. PhD and PostDoc students will expose their results in homogeneous sessions for presentation of not more of 10 communications followed by discussion.
