The 2nd International Past Grasslands Research Conference (PGR 2002) will be held from June 13 to June 16, 2002 in St. Cloud, MN, USA. The goal is to assemble a diverse body of researchers interested in any aspect of history and evolution of the grasslands worldwide (paleoclimatology, paleoecology, paleogeography, paleonthology, etc.) Appropriate field trips or thematic sessions may be organized. St. Cloud, MN (metro area population ~100,000) is home to the second largest university in Minnesota and is located at the prairie-forest ecotone near the geographical center of the state on the banks of the mighty Mississippi. A few restored and/or native tall grass prairie sites and abundant glacial landforms are found in close proximity to the city. St. Cloud is 1.5 hours away from Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport with easy connection by air, shuttle, or rental car. It is also served by Amtrak train and Greyhound bus.
