| Description |
Spacecraft charging up to thousands of volts can occur at near geosynchronous altitudes. It can interfere with the telemetry, disturb the scientific measurements onboard, and affect the operations and survivability of spacecraft. This course provides an overview and summarizes the basic knowledge of the field. A pedagogical approach is adopted throughout. No computational software will be required. Physical concepts are carefully explained and basic equations are derived. The student will learn not only the basic physics but also a working knowledge of this field.
