The WESS2001 workshop will bring together practitioners and academics with
an interest in empirical studies on de-localized software systems. It will
promote the interaction and the discussion, identify possible solutions to
emerging problems and seek to generate new ideas and directions. Themes of
interest include, but are not limited to:
1)geographically distributed software system mainte
nance and evolution;
2) issues involved in designing and implementing emp
irical studies in distributed industrial environments;
3)new processes, methodologies, and tools t
o attain to
empirical evidence in the context of de-localized software systems.
