The World Cingress on pain is in its fourth year.We decided to differ from various congresses held globaly on the topic.Our goals are not only to review the current scientific knowledge about alternative medicine and the prospect of future advances but to also provide multiple opportunities for interaction among the participants.A high light is the medical camp on the last day of the congress ,patients arrive from all over the country and thus provide a tremendous opportunity for learning on a first hand basis.This is a tradition from 1998 and we hope to maintain it in subsequent years.
The secOnd consideration for us is to bridge the gap between alternative and orthodox medicine and thus lay the foundation of a true INTEGRATED MEDICINE.We have decided to explore pain in all its varied forms,this has been our topic since the first congress and we plan to continue it for a few more.The syndrome of pain has complex psycho-physiological and social ramifications.Modern medicine alone is
inadequate to combat it.Dear colleagues let us provide new insights in pain management for the new millennium.We hope that you will share your knowledge with us as we welcome you to the historic city of Lahore, Pakistan.
