| Description |
The first international conference on industrial biocatalysis focuses on technological advances in, commercial applications of, and industrial practice of biocatalysis for the fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries. Biocatalysis is an area that is continuing to progress rapidly. Devlopments in many areas of biological research are providing new approaches to the identification and improvement of biocatalysis with novel properties of potential use to industry. Dramatic improvements in biocatalyst performance are claimed for some of the new screening and biocatalyst improvenment technologies.
Speakers from leaading academic and industrial groups around the world will address the most recent scientific developments in biocatalysis and assess their potential impact. Topics to be addressed include: metabolic pathway engineering; enzyme discovery and the development of rapid screening procedures; directed molecular evolution; enzyme improvement and design; new industrial bioprocesses; novel applications.
The conference is designed for managers and scientists in companies employing biocatalysis and those contemplating the use of biological processes. It is also designed for academic researchers involved in the development of new more effective process involving biocatalysis.
