Formerly known as The Gatlinburg Conference, Trends in Welding Research brings together leading international welding researchers, educators, engineers, technical managers, and executives. Technical highlights include coverage of structural applications, welding, brazing, soldering, laser welding, friction stir welding, and resistance spot welding. The Trevor Gooch Stainless Steel Symposium on Welding of Stainless Steels will commemorate the late Dr. Gooch's outstanding contributions in this area.
Only Trends in Welding Research integrates many disciplines -- including the basic sciences of physics, chemistry, and mathematics, along with computer science and mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering -- to provide fundamental understanding of the complete welding process. This year's five-day conference, organized by ASM International and the American Welding Society, is the sixth in a series held every three years since May 1986.
