The Humane Society of the United States has developed a dynamic education conference designed for anyone and everyone who works or volunteers at the local level with dogs, cats, or other animals. We’ve added several new daylong certificate courses for 2002 and kept some perennial favorites, too. New offerings this year include daylong courses on cat issues, humane education, and fundraising. Our returning daylong courses include Disaster Planning and our most popular course on Planning and Building an Animal Shelter. These optional daylong courses kick off Expo on Wednesday, April 3, and carry an extra fee. These invaluable educational opportunities provide some of the most in-depth instruction available anywhere. Last year’s popular Exhibit Hall was “sold out,” and this year is expected to be no different. This year’s Exhibit Hall will feature nearly 200 booths from more than 100 different companies and organizations offering the latest products and services. You’ll be able to test animal-capture equipment, peruse materials from a variety of nonprofits, obtain a demo of shelter-management software, and more. The Exhibit Hall is the perfect complement to all the education and training you’ll receive in Expo’s professional development workshops and daylong certificate courses.
