The near completion of genome sequencing of many living organisms has accelerated the need to identify the function of individual transcription/translation units. As many proteins function in multi-component complexes, the key to establishing function is the identification of protein binding partners.

A number of platform technologies for studying protein interactions are presently at early stages of development; for further progress to be made, these technologies will require the collaboration of chemists, physicists, biologists, molecular biologists, biochemists and IT specialists. This programme of speakers will draw together the energies of scientists of these different disciplines helping to accelerate progress of developing the technologies
