The ESCAPE (European Symposium on Computer Aided Process
Engineering) series constitutes a major event in the area of CAPE
(Computer Aided Process Engineering) with over 200 participants
from more than 50 countries. The series serves as a forum for
bringing together scientists, researchers, managers, engineers, and
students from academia and industry, which are interested in
Computer Aided Process Engineering. The last two ESCAPE conferences
were held in Denmark (2001) and Netherlands (2002)

CAPE refers to computer aided methods, algorithms and techniques
related to process and product engineering. The objective of
ESCAPE-13 is to highlight the traditional CAPE topics as well as
new CAPE topics of current and future interest.
The main theme for ESCAPE-13 is

Expanding Application Field of CAPE Methods and Tools

Process Design
* Process integration
* Process intensification
* Integrated design, planning and scheduling
* Process synthesis
* Numerical methods for design and synthesis
* Integrated product and process design

Process Control and Dynamics
* Integration of design and control
* Control and optimisation of hybrid processes
* Dynamic analysis within the whole supply chain
* Systems for operators┬┤ training and support

Modeling, Simulation and Optimisation
* Life-cycle modeling and optimisation
* Modeling of new processes
* Complex-multicomponent materials and mixtures
* Model selection and reduction
* Interaction with experimentation

* Modeling and simulation with CFD

Applications in Pulp and Paper Industry

* Modeling and simulation of unit operations in pulp
and paper industry
* Mill-wide simulation
* Design and optimization
* New tools for forest industry

Challenges in Modeling, Simulation and Optimisation in
* Food industry
* Pharmaceutical industry
* Biotechnology
* Metallurgy
* Paints and pigments

Contributions on theoretical and applied research on all topics
within the scope of ESCAPE 13 are invited. Prospective authors are
requested to submit an abstract in English of approximately 500 words.

The abstract should contain the title, author(s) with
affiliation(s), address, list of keywords and the name of the
thematic group (Topics for Technical Program) in which it is
planned to be presented.

Please send your abstract as an e-mail attachment to the e-mail
All manuscripts are required as MS-Word document (version 6.0/95 or
higher) or as Adobe PDF document..

The abstracts will be selected by Scientific Committee based on
their originality, significance, relevance and clarity of
presentation. The successful authors will be asked to submit a
paper according to the specific requirements of publisher. All
accepted papers would be published, after review, in a congress
proceedings as a volume of the book series on Computer Aided
Chemical Engineering, published by Elsevier Science B.V

At the time of the conference, the interested authors can submit an
extended version of their papers to be reviewed and published as a
full length paper in the special volume of Computers and Chemical
