Restaurant Events today announced the launch of Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong 2002, a focused business event for the top end of Asia Pacific’s hospitality industry: taking place at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Conference Centre from the 29th - 31st October 2002.
With an $8 billion hospitality market, more restaurants per head than any other city in the world and a growing, sophisticated bar scene, Hong Kong has proved itself to be one of the world’s top three gourmet capitals and the ideal location for an event of this kind. It will bring together over 200 top suppliers from all areas of the trade including: fine food, drinks, design, furniture, technology and services. They will come from around the world, creating a unique show to provide inspiration and ideas to all of its industry visitors.
Feature attractions will include: a carefully planned programme of seminars, workshops, interactive demonstrations, tutored tastings and interviews with industry ‘heroes’. Alongside this, there will be a fully functioning purpose built cocktail bar, designed and equipped by leading suppliers and manned by top mixologists.
Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong is organised by the same experienced management team that were responsible for the UK’s prestigious London Restaurant Show, Pub & Bar, barculture and designvision events. It has an Advisory Committee comprising of the most important names in Hong Kong hospitality.
The event will be free to all members of the trade and will be of interest to everyone working at the top end of the hospitality sector in the region: chefs, sommeliers, F & B managers, restaurant managers bar owners, hoteliers and entrepreneurs. It will provide a long awaited buying and networking platform and a ‘one stop shop’ for Hong Kong’s restaurant and bar industry.

4.Jonathan Goold joined Earls Court Olympia Group in 1983 and took over as Managing Director of the event organising company in 1991 until 2000, by which time it was called Clarion Events Ltd. Whilst there, he presided over a number of successful events including: The London Motor Show, Top Drawer and The Fines Arts and Antiques Fairs.
