Last October, Omega organized a highly successful investment initiative on the Australia / Africa theme in Singapore. On the Singapore side, we brought together a wide range of serious investors in mining and natural resources – both institutional and individual. As a result, we have been asked to bring the same theme to London – where Omega has very good mining and natural resource connections.
We believe the timing is also right for this investment initiative.
· Firstly, there clearly is a worldwide resurgence of investment interest in natural resources and mining.
· Secondly, the market over the last twelve months in respect to platinum and gold have re-focused attention on both the long term and portfolio investment in these and other metals.
· Thirdly, the dynamic changes which have taken place in South Africa and also to a certain extent in Australia, have opened up new and specific opportunities for investors on the producer side; and
· Fourthly, more than anywhere else, there is a growing interaction between Australian and African mining interests as can be see through the recent space of mergers and acquisitions – this clearly opens the way to cross-knitting investment opportunities.
The London initiative will therefore aim at getting these points across to large institutional investors; known mining and resource investors; known substantial investors; and portfolio investment bankers and facilitators. This conference is also an obvious platform for strategic networking.
Who Should Attend
Everybody who is interested in or connected to the mining industry – whether established mine operators or junior miners; entrepreneurs; funders and investors; analysts and advisors and private shareholders; consultants and mine suppliers. The structure of this day-long conference reflects the expectations and needs of all significant players.
