Nearly 3,000 people attended IHI’s 13th Annual National Forum on Quality Improvement in Health Care on December 9-12, 2001 in Orlando, Florida. Given all that has happened recently to discourage travel, we were thrilled to see so many of you! Built around the theme of “We, the People,” this year’s Forum featured plenary presentations by Don Berwick, MD, MPP; Mark Smith, MD, MBA, President and CEO of the California HealthCare Foundation; Susan L. Taylor, senior vice-president of Essence Communications; and a special presentation of the Pulitzer-prize winning play, “Wit.”
Comments from Fans of the Forum
"We usually send about 20 members of our staff and board to the National Forum. But one year, we ran into financial troubles, so we sent 30! It's our best source for new ideas."
William C. Rupp, President & CEO, Luther/Midelfort — Mayo Health System, Eau Claire, WI
"Without question the best meeting in health care — bar none."
Mark Secord, Executive Director and CEO, Puget Sound Neighborhood Health Centers, Seattle, WA
